this must be why I don’t consider myself a brand… there would need to be a picture of a screaming mass, ie my kids, for this to be true of me! 🙂

You’ve definitely hit the nail on the head here – at least as I interpret the pictures. Successful marketing is really a matter of truly understanding what your market wants and needs – and for that you have to be willing to ask and listen more often than you speak. Your message will communicate just how well you’ve connected with your audience’s emotional need.
